We are seeking a passionate and experienced Philanthropy Lead.This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in securing substantial financial support from high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and foundations. You'll be responsible for building deep, meaningful relationships with major donors and implementing strategic fundraising plans that directly contribute to CAP's vision of transformed lives, thriving churches, and an end to UK poverty.

In this influential role, you'll manage a designated caseload of high-value donors, conduct face-to-face meetings, develop compelling funding proposals, and create bespoke stewardship plans. You'll work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify engagement opportunities and represent CAP at high-level events and conferences. With ambitious targets to achieve - including contributing to a goal of 17.5% of overall revenue from major donors within 3 years - this role offers the chance to make a significant impact on some of the UK's most vulnerable communities.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Proven track record of securing significant major gifts (5-6 figures) from high-net-worth individuals
• Minimum 3 years of experience in high-value fundraising

The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the research strategy of the Global Engagement Team and the delivery of a high quality, in-house research service to the Warden (CEO), Trustees and senior leadership of the Rhodes Trust, in support of fundraising towards the Trust’s 125th Anniversary Campaign goal of £200 million and increased alumni and friends of Rhodes engagement. The role will be responsible for;

· Managing research output to support the GET team mission.

· Managing the delivery of all briefing materials for the Warden’s Office, Trustees and senior leadership team (SLT) to support stakeholder engagement, events and travel.

· Lead tailored research projects for key global regions in co-ordination with GET senior leadership and to support Campaign Committee. Pro-actively identify potential prospects, donors, partners and volunteers for the Trust for inclusion within fundraising pipelines

· Manage a varied portfolio of research resources and processes, including scoping materials, briefings and profiles, reports, network mapping, regional insights/analysis, philanthropic trends/issues, and country-specific content.

· In collaboration with the International & Special Projects Lead (Warden/CEO Office) and GET senior leadership, support the strategy, planning and delivery of all global travel for the Warden and fundraising team, including objectives/goals, itinerary design, identifying engagement opportunities and delivery of all associated research materials.

· Responsible for all in-house due diligence research prepared for the Warden and SLT in respect to risks and sensitivities surrounding donation acceptance, and management of the Trust’s submissions to Oxford University’s Committee to Review Donations as the university’s primary point of contact.

· Role modelling the Trust’s organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation.

· Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role, as requested.

The Role
 
This role will work closely with the Director and the Schools Programme Manager to provide broad and comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the overall running of this established and highly regarded family foundation. This will include ensuring existing systems and processes are adhered to and updated where necessary, grantees are dealt with promptly, cordially and professionally and the running of the office is efficient and smooth.
 
The role will be responsible for coordinating financial processes, grants administration, office and facilities coordination and executive support to the CEO in addition to arranging high level trustee meetings and wider administrative tasks as they arise. This role will also manage key relationships with contractors who offer external support such as Finance and Website development, in addition to responding to enquiries from existing and potential grantees, advising on process, eligibility criteria and application cycles.
 
The Person
 
The successful candidate will have substantial office based, administration experience with broad and wide-ranging coordination skills, spanning office systems, stakeholder engagement, customer service, process management and facilities support.
 
This experience would ideally have been gained in the charity, education or arts-based sectors to compliment the work of the foundation, but similarly, could have been gained from the corporate or statutory sectors where thorough and highly organised processes and procedures have been crucial to success. Helpful, warm and friendly, but firm, fair and confident, this person will have an excellent eye for detail, will be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and will have a solutions driven approach.
 
Approachable by nature, this person will also be highly numerate, organised and efficient with strong IT skills and the ability to navigate databases and all standard MS Office packages to a competent level. This person will have experience of organising and facilitating high level meetings (for example trustees or senior leadership team) and capable of preparing papers and following up actions to ensure objectives are met and ambitions are achieved. Close, collaborative working is essential to success at foundation so this person will be a real team player, happy to roll their sleeves up and help out wherever necessary.

Financial Operations Lead | Permanent | London - Hybrid | £43,941 + Benefits

For a well-known UK charity, we're recruiting a Financial Operations Lead on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Operations Lead will oversee all processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, accruals and prepayments, as well as VAT returns, and all day-to-day banking, credit card and investment matters. The Financial Operations Lead is a key role, supporting staff queries, liaising with HR on payroll returns, and supporting the development of robust month-end processes across the team.

What you'll be doing:

• Financial Transactions - support AP processing, and approval of invoices on the AR ledger
• Prepare payroll journals and reconcile all payroll information
• Prepare accruals and prepayments for income and expenditure and support month-end accounts
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns
• Support year-end with the preparation of note to the accounts including payroll, banking, fixed assets and investments
• Liaise with bank, investment fund managers and credit card providers
• Support wider teams with finance queries, and financial compliance procedures
• Payroll - check all finance aspects of the payroll before final sign-off and work closely with HR team to ensure payroll system is compliant with HMRC guidelines

The Job

We're looking for a Global Financial Controller to join on a 10-11 month fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you'll lead the financial control and statutory reporting functions across four international entities (UK, US, India, Singapore), while managing two direct reports (AP Manager and AR Manager).

About this key role
As Policy and Advocacy Lead, you will deliver a bold and evidence-based policy and advocacy plan aligned with St Giles’ three pillars of work: Poverty, Violence & Exploitation and Criminal Justice.  You will also provide strategic advice and support to leadership and executive teams on political and policy developments and ensure our influencing work is inclusive, grounded in lived experience and reflects the values and priorities of St Giles.

We will also count on you to lead the development of policy positions, briefings, consultation responses, and reports, oversee research projects and ensure robust evidence underpins all policy recommendations and to build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government departments, think tanks, and stakeholders.  Leading, managing and inspiring the Policy and Influencing team to deliver high-impact work is also a major aspect of this role, as is collaborating across departments, such as Programmes and Fundraising, to integrate policy work into wider organisational objectives.

About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Media and Communications Officer to join the Policy and Communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong media relations that drive positive media coverage, enhance brand awareness, attract new supporters, and uphold the charity’s reputation across all media platforms.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you will contribute to the development and delivery of impactful communications campaigns that effectively tell the story of our work, highlight our impact, and strengthen our brand.

About you

You will bring experience in managing media and communications projects designed to generate positive coverage, applying creative PR techniques across trade, local, and national media outlets.

You will have experience in developing and implementing communications campaigns that leverage media, digital channels, and events to raise awareness and engage support for a charity.

Skilled at building relationships across a wide range of people including journalists, commentators and bloggers. You will effectively manage reputational crisis communications and confidently support spokespeople and senior leaders in responding to challenging or negative media coverage.

You will have proven experience in translating complex issues for diverse audiences using plain language and accessible formats. 

You’ll be instrumental in providing communications support to teams across Sustrans including developing inspirational stories to showcase our work, creating content for publications and newsletters, preparing spokespeople with well-researched media briefings, pitching press releases and responding to media enquiries.
